 cribes Datamodes on its own -- it is the third Sunday in 2022 and 2023 and
  the second in 2024\, 2025 and 2026 -- so encoding it as an ordinal would 
 have been wrong in two of the five years RSGB published.\n\nTHE 1 JANUARY 
 EXCEPTION IS EVIDENCED\, NOT ASSUMED. 1 January 2022 was itself a Saturday
  and RSGB ran AFS CW on the 8th\, so `exclude_dates: [[1\, 1]]` is what re
 produces that year -- the same shape ARRL RTTY Roundup states outright for
  its own New Year clash. RSGB does not state it in words\, but unlike TRAC
 's equivalent this is not a single year's evidence fitted to a rule: it is
  the only reading that fits all five years across all three contests. It n
