ARRL Kids Day (January) unverified

Six hours on a January Saturday for getting young operators on the air; you exchange a name, an age and a favourite colour.

Rules at arrl.orgThe rules are the sponsor's. This page holds the dates and the facts.

These dates have not been checked against ARRL's own published rules yet. They are computed from the rule below, which is what the catalog holds — but the sponsor's page wins.

When it runs

First Saturday of January

Where this comes from

Checked against the sponsor
unverified — these dates have not yet been checked against ARRL's own page. Treat the sponsor's rules as authoritative.
What the source says
arrl.org/kids-day, ARRL's own page: 'Generally the first Saturday in January, and the third Saturday in June.' 'Kids Day always runs from 1800 UTC through 2359 UTC.' Exchange: 'Name, age, location and favorite color.' Call: 'CQ Kids Day'. Bands listed with suggested frequencies, and local repeaters permitted with permission.
Recorded caveats
UNVERIFIED ON PURPOSE, AND THE HEDGE IS ARRL'S OWN. Their page says 'GENERALLY the first Saturday in January' -- and ARRL's Generic Contest Calendar, which states every other ARRL recurrence flatly, lists only the June running and gives it as 'Third Saturday in June' with no hedge at all. So the January date is stated once, softly, in one place. The record carries the hedge as a hedge rather than promoting it to a rule. The catalog held the June running from the first seeding pass and never had this one, from a sponsor with 21 encoded records -- which is the gap audit's second finding in miniature: the bias was not only across sponsors but WITHIN them.

Something wrong? How to report it — a link to the sponsor's own page is all it takes.

Add to Google CalendarSubscribe (iCal)This record as JSON

Add to Google Calendar puts the next running in as a single event. It is one event, not a subscription — come back for the one after it, or use the feed below.

Subscribe (iCal) carries this contest's runnings for the next twelve months as UTC instants and keeps them current. Apple Calendar, Outlook and Thunderbird take this address directly. Its identifiers are stable across deploys, so re-subscribing does not duplicate anything: https://contestclock.com/api/ics?id=arrl-kids-day-jan

Google has no working one-click subscribe. Paste that address into Settings → Add calendar → From URL. Google then polls it on its own schedule, often 8–24 hours, and that cannot be forced — so use Add to Google Calendar above if you want the next running in your calendar now.
