ARS Spartan Sprint
Monthly two-hour QRP CW sprint on the first Monday evening. Scoring rewards a low station weight as well as QSOs, which is what makes it distinctive.
Rules at ars-qrp.comThe rules are the sponsor's. This page holds the dates and the facts.
When it runs
First Monday of every month
- 2000 → 2200 Monday
Times are the sponsor's own clock in America/New_York, so the UTC instant moves an hour across a daylight-saving boundary. The runnings below are the resolved instants.

- Checked against the sponsor
- Yes. The rule on this page was read off Adventure Radio Society's own published rules. Link last confirmed 2026-08-11.
- What the source says
ars-qrp.com Spartan Sprint page: 'Held on the first Monday of every month', 'EASTERN 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Local. CENTRAL 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Local MOUNTAIN 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Local PACIFIC 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Local', '(Does not shift for DST - This event is always at these Local Times)', 'a simple, casual 2 Hour QRP CW Event', 'open to all QRP CW operators - there is no membership requirement'.
- Recorded caveats
- CORRECTION (anchor): previously encoded as the first TUESDAY of the month. The sponsor's rule is the first MONDAY US local, which lands on Tuesday UTC -- and those are different dates whenever the 1st falls on a Tuesday (Sep and Dec 2026). SPONSOR-ANCHORED LOCAL TIME: ARS publishes no UTC time and states the event 'is always at these Local Times', so the UTC instant is what moves -- 0100Z Tuesday under EST, 0000Z Tuesday under EDT. Resolved through America/New_York rather than hardcoded, so DST is handled. ARS lists Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific times that are the same instant in every zone that observes DST; Arizona, which does not, is the one place the sponsor's own table is inconsistent.
Something wrong? How to report it — a link to the sponsor's own page is all it takes.

Add to Google CalendarSubscribe (iCal)This record as JSON
Add to Google Calendar puts the next running in as a single event. It is one event, not a subscription — come back for the one after it, or use the feed below.
Subscribe (iCal) carries this contest's runnings for the next twelve months as UTC instants and keeps them current. Apple Calendar, Outlook and Thunderbird take this address directly. Its identifiers are stable across deploys, so re-subscribing does not duplicate anything: https://contestclock.com/api/ics?id=ars-spartan-sprint
Google has no working one-click subscribe. Paste that address into Settings → Add calendar → From URL. Google then polls it on its own schedule, often 8–24 hours, and that cannot be forced — so use Add to Google Calendar above if you want the next running in your calendar now.
