Where this comes from
- Checked against the sponsor
- unverified — these dates have not yet been checked against CQ Magazine's own page. Treat the sponsor's rules as authoritative.
- What the source says
cqww-vhf.com/rules (2026): 'SSB/CW/FM: July 4-5 Digital: July 18-19. Starts 14:00:00 UTC Saturday Ends 14:00:00 UTC Sunday'; 'Only analog modes (SSB/CW/FM) during the SSB/CW weekend. Only digital modes (FT4, FT8, MSK144, Q65, etc) during the Digital weekend.' The 2025 rules PDF on the same site has July 5-6 and July 19-20 at 12:00 UTC. Both split-weekend years are the first Saturday of July and the Saturday two weeks later; the sponsor states no recurrence rule, and the start time moved from 12:00 to 14:00 UTC between the two. The rules PDFs for 2016-2024 show a single weekend at 18:00-21:00 UTC in mid-July (third Saturday), so the pattern is two years old.
- Recorded caveats
- UNVERIFIED RULE: the split-weekend pattern (first full July weekend for SSB/CW/FM, digital two weeks later) rests on two years of sponsor rules (2025, 2026) and the start time changed between them (12:00 UTC in 2025, 14:00 UTC in 2026). Encoded at the 2026 clock time. Re-read the 2027 rules when published.
Something wrong? How to report it — a link to the sponsor's own page is all it takes.

Add to Google CalendarSubscribe (iCal)This record as JSON
Add to Google Calendar puts the next running in as a single event. It is one event, not a subscription — come back for the one after it, or use the feed below.
Subscribe (iCal) carries this contest's runnings for the next twelve months as UTC instants and keeps them current. Apple Calendar, Outlook and Thunderbird take this address directly. Its identifiers are stable across deploys, so re-subscribing does not duplicate anything: https://contestclock.com/api/ics?id=cq-ww-vhf
Google has no working one-click subscribe. Paste that address into Settings → Add calendar → From URL. Google then polls it on its own schedule, often 8–24 hours, and that cannot be forced — so use Add to Google Calendar above if you want the next running in your calendar now.
