Where this comes from

Checked against the sponsor
Yes. The rule on this page was read off IRTS's own published rules. Link last confirmed 2026-08-23.
What the source says
irts.ie/cgi/st.cgi?r_hffdrules.html, IRTS's own Field Day rules, with the dates and deadlines from irts.ie/cgi/st.cgi?test_calendar, IRTS's own Rules & Calendar page. 'From 13:00 UTC Saturday to 13:00 UTC Sunday on the first full weekend in September.' Bands: '3.5, 7, 14, 21 and 28 MHz bands', for 'SSB phone contacts'. Same exchange and same entry condition as the CW field day. The calendar gives 5-6 September 2026 with logs due 20 September. Checked 2026-08-23.
Recorded caveats
IT FALLS ON THE SAME WEEKEND AS RSGB'S, AND THAT IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. Both societies run their leg of the IARU Region 1 Field Day: RSGB's National Field Day is the first Saturday of June and IRTS's CW Field Day is the first full weekend, and the same pairing repeats in September. They are separate contests with separate rules, separate logs and separate results -- which is why both are here rather than one. The pairing also settles what the IARU Region 1 Field Day IS: a framework each member society runs its own contest inside, not a contest IARU publishes rules for. DARC lists it on their calendar and says it is IARU's; UBA lists it too; IARU Region 1's own site publishes rules for the HF Championship and nothing else. Nobody claims it, so there is nothing to encode under IARU's name. ENTRY IS EI ONLY AND PORTABLE ONLY: 'Any individual or group operating in EI complying with Rule 3.6 of the General Rules and operating portable on a site'. Stations elsewhere may be worked but cannot enter. Two differences from the CW field day, both IRTS's own and both matching RSGB's pair exactly: it starts at 1300 rather than 1500, and it drops 160 m.

Something wrong? How to report it — a link to the sponsor's own page is all it takes.

Add to Google CalendarSubscribe (iCal)This record as JSON

Add to Google Calendar puts the next running in as a single event. It is one event, not a subscription — come back for the one after it, or use the feed below.

Subscribe (iCal) carries this contest's runnings for the next twelve months as UTC instants and keeps them current. Apple Calendar, Outlook and Thunderbird take this address directly. Its identifiers are stable across deploys, so re-subscribing does not duplicate anything: https://contestclock.com/api/ics?id=irts-ssb-field-day

Google has no working one-click subscribe. Paste that address into Settings → Add calendar → From URL. Google then polls it on its own schedule, often 8–24 hours, and that cannot be forced — so use Add to Google Calendar above if you want the next running in your calendar now.
