Jock White Memorial Field Day
NZART's branch field day: two evening-and-morning sessions on the last full weekend in February, 80 and 40 metres, run on New Zealand time.
Rules at nzart.org.nzThe rules are the sponsor's. This page holds the dates and the facts.
When it runs
Last full weekend of February, except when that falls on 21 February — then the weekend after
- 1500 → 2400 Saturdaysession 1
- 0600 → 1500 Sundaysession 2
Times are the sponsor's own clock in Pacific/Auckland, so the UTC instant moves an hour across a daylight-saving boundary. The runnings below are the resolved instants.
2 sessions run off the one anchor day; each is a separate running with its own log.

Where this comes from
- Checked against the sponsor
- Yes. The rule on this page was read off NZART's own published rules. Link last confirmed 2026-08-17.
- What the source says
nzart.org.nz (Jock White Memorial Field Day rules): 'The last full weekend in February each year: on Saturday 1500-2400 NZDT and Sunday 0600-1500 NZDT. NOTE: when February only has three full weekends then field day will be held on Saturday 28th February and Sunday 1st March. This is to avoid a clash with the ARRL International CW contest. This will occur in 2026.' The exclusion is encoded exactly, not approximated: the last-full-weekend Saturday falls on February 21 if and only if February has 28 days and February 1 is a Sunday -- which is precisely the three-full-weekend case -- so exclude_dates [[2, 21]] pushes it to February 28 and reproduces NZART's own 2026 dates. 'Last Saturday in February' was tested and rejected: it diverges in a leap year beginning on a Saturday. Bands, modes and power: '40 and/or 80 metres, PHONE (SSB) and/or CW, 100 watts PEP maximum.' Exchange and log deadline as quoted in note.
- Recorded caveats
- NZART SETS THIS ONE BY THE NEW ZEALAND CLOCK, NOT BY UTC: 1500-2400 Saturday and 0600-1500 Sunday NZDT. The UTC instants shown here therefore move with New Zealand daylight saving, unlike almost every other contest in this calendar. The QRP category is '5 Watts CW/10 Watts SSB maximum'; the 100W figure is NZART's overall limit. The log deadline is 'the Saturday which is four weeks after the Field Day Saturday' -- anchored to the Saturday rather than to either session's end -- so no interval is computed.
Something wrong? How to report it — a link to the sponsor's own page is all it takes.

Add to Google CalendarSubscribe (iCal)This record as JSON
Add to Google Calendar puts the next running in as a single event. It is one event, not a subscription — come back for the one after it, or use the feed below.
Subscribe (iCal) carries this contest's runnings for the next twelve months as UTC instants and keeps them current. Apple Calendar, Outlook and Thunderbird take this address directly. Its identifiers are stable across deploys, so re-subscribing does not duplicate anything: https://contestclock.com/api/ics?id=nzart-jock-white-field-day
Google has no working one-click subscribe. Paste that address into Settings → Add calendar → From URL. Google then polls it on its own schedule, often 8–24 hours, and that cannot be forced — so use Add to Google Calendar above if you want the next running in your calendar now.
