WAE DX Contest CW

The DX half of the WAE trio: only Europe-to-DX contacts count, and QTC traffic lets a DX station double its score by passing logged QSOs back to Europe.

RS/RST + serial from 001. QTC traffic scores additional points: a QSO already logged is reported back to a European station as time, callsign and serial, at most 10 between any two stations, and each correctly passed QTC counts a point to both ends.

'Der Deutsche Amateur Radio Club (DARC) lädt alle Funkamateure weltweit ... ein.' Scoring is one-sided: 'Ein Wettbewerbs-QSO kann nur zwischen einer europäischen und einer außereuropäischen Station geführt werden' -- a contest QSO can only be made between a European and a non-European station. Not encoded as two_sided, which would need DARC's whole WAE country list enumerated in both engines; same call as JARL All Asian.

Where this comes from

Checked against the sponsor
Yes. The rule on this page was read off DARC's own published rules. Link last confirmed 2026-08-18.
What the source says
darc.de/der-club/referate/conteste/wae-dx-contest/regeln/ (Ausschreibung, Stand 2025-06-17): 'Der Deutsche Amateur Radio Club (DARC) lädt alle Funkamateure weltweit zum jährlich stattfindenden WAEDC-Contest ein.' -- 'DARC invites all radio amateurs worldwide to the annual WAEDC contest.' Bänder: '3,5 - 7 - 14 - 21 - 28 MHz.' Kontrollziffernaustausch: 'Ausgetauscht werden RS/RST und eine Seriennummer ab 001.' -- 'RS/RST and a serial number from 001 are exchanged.' Einsendeschluss, Punkt 13: 'Der Einsendeschluß ist immer 7 Tage nach dem Contest.' -- 'the deadline is always 7 days after the contest.' Wettbewerbszeiten: 'CW: August, zweites Wochenende. Samstag, 8. August 2026, 0000 UTC bis Sonntag, 9. August 2026, 2359 UTC' -- 'CW: August, second weekend. Saturday 8 August 2026, 0000 UTC to Sunday 9 August 2026, 2359 UTC.' Ruhepausen: 'Während des 48 Stunden dauernden Contests dürfen Einmannstationen nur 36 Stunden arbeiten.' -- single operators may work only 36 of the 48 hours. Verified 2026-08-18.
Recorded caveats
DARC states the deadline twice as an interval and once as an instant, and for the CW leg the instant disagrees. Rule 13 says 'immer 7 Tage nach dem Contest' and the general contest rules say the same; seven days from this leg's end is 16 August 2026, which is the date DARC's own KW contest calendar prints. The per-leg line on the same rules page reads 'Einsendeschluss CW: 17.08.2026, 23:59 UTC', a day later. The interval is what is encoded -- it is stated twice, and it reproduces the printed instants of the SSB and RTTY legs exactly. Both statements are recorded here rather than reconciled.

Something wrong? How to report it — a link to the sponsor's own page is all it takes.

Add to Google CalendarSubscribe (iCal)This record as JSON

Add to Google Calendar puts the next running in as a single event. It is one event, not a subscription — come back for the one after it, or use the feed below.

Subscribe (iCal) carries this contest's runnings for the next twelve months as UTC instants and keeps them current. Apple Calendar, Outlook and Thunderbird take this address directly. Its identifiers are stable across deploys, so re-subscribing does not duplicate anything: https://contestclock.com/api/ics?id=wae-dx-cw

Google has no working one-click subscribe. Paste that address into Settings → Add calendar → From URL. Google then polls it on its own schedule, often 8–24 hours, and that cannot be forced — so use Add to Google Calendar above if you want the next running in your calendar now.
