WAE DX Contest RTTY

The November RTTY running of WAE. Alone among the three legs it drops the continent restriction -- anyone may work anyone, and only QTCs must cross oceans.

Rules at darc.deThe rules are the sponsor's. This page holds the dates and the facts.

When it runs

Second full weekend of November

  • 0000Z Saturday → 2359Z Sunday

Where this comes from

Checked against the sponsor
Yes. The rule on this page was read off DARC's own published rules. Link last confirmed 2026-08-18.
What the source says
darc.de/der-club/referate/conteste/wae-dx-contest/regeln/ (Ausschreibung, Stand 2025-06-17): 'Der Deutsche Amateur Radio Club (DARC) lädt alle Funkamateure weltweit zum jährlich stattfindenden WAEDC-Contest ein.' -- 'DARC invites all radio amateurs worldwide to the annual WAEDC contest.' Bänder: '3,5 - 7 - 14 - 21 - 28 MHz.' Kontrollziffernaustausch: 'Ausgetauscht werden RS/RST und eine Seriennummer ab 001.' -- 'RS/RST and a serial number from 001 are exchanged.' Einsendeschluss, Punkt 13: 'Der Einsendeschluß ist immer 7 Tage nach dem Contest.' -- 'the deadline is always 7 days after the contest.' Wettbewerbszeiten: 'RTTY: November, zweites Wochenende. Samstag, 14. November 2026, 0000 UTC bis Sonntag, 15. November 2026, 2359 UTC' -- 'RTTY: November, second weekend.' -- 'in the RTTY part the continent restriction does not apply; everyone can work everyone. Only the QTC exchange has to be settled between different continents.' DARC prints 'Einsendeschluss RTTY: 22.11.2026, 23:59 UTC', exactly the stated seven days. Verified 2026-08-18.
Recorded caveats
DARC writes 'zweites Wochenende', not 'zweites volles Wochenende', and November 2026 is the year that separates the two readings: 1 November is a Sunday whose Saturday belongs to October. Counting that orphan Sunday would put the contest on 7-8 November; DARC publishes 14-15 November, so the rule is encoded as the second full weekend.

Something wrong? How to report it — a link to the sponsor's own page is all it takes.

Add to Google CalendarSubscribe (iCal)This record as JSON

Add to Google Calendar puts the next running in as a single event. It is one event, not a subscription — come back for the one after it, or use the feed below.

Subscribe (iCal) carries this contest's runnings for the next twelve months as UTC instants and keeps them current. Apple Calendar, Outlook and Thunderbird take this address directly. Its identifiers are stable across deploys, so re-subscribing does not duplicate anything: https://contestclock.com/api/ics?id=wae-dx-rtty

Google has no working one-click subscribe. Paste that address into Settings → Add calendar → From URL. Google then polls it on its own schedule, often 8–24 hours, and that cannot be forced — so use Add to Google Calendar above if you want the next running in your calendar now.
